Week-8 Design Studio – forming teams and selecting the idea

We will be working on a pyramid game which we had designed during our Week-4 Workshop. We have planned to amend the game concept and program it into high fidelity game. Our initially prototype game concept is to find the key and exit and within a certain moves, so basically we will be implementing the same logic with more graphical objects.

           Stage-1

                                          Stage-2

The design for our game will be similar to the workshop but not the same prototype design we have implemented. We are creating interesting design based on the game concept to make it attractive and thus we can merge the workshop design with our game design.

The game concept is simple and easy for players to understand game rules. Where player will have to think steps ahead to attend the key and unlock the treasure. Basically the scope for the game is high and possible to produce the working game.

-          Our team assigned tasks for each member as follow:
o    Abel Lam is the designer of the team. His tasks are to design the initial concept, user interface, graphical stuffs.
o    Sarath Amirtha is the sound analysis and tester for the game. He is in charge of game testing, idea suggestion and providing sounds for the game.
o    Quang Nguyen Dang is the programmer of the team. His tasks are to follow whatever the Abel and Sarath targets to implement the game on iOS. He also comes out with the advice for the designer and the in what can be done and what cannot be to make sure that the team is not aiming too high.

Prototype can be low-fidelity or high-fidelity based on the work process. So far we have created only the low-fidelity paper prototype for user testing.

Eliza the Computer Therapist

This computer therapist name is Eliza and its quite interesting to interact with it, but not up to the standard level to understand what human are typing and how to respond them. There are other interactive application like Eliza so comparing them with Eliza it doesn't really effective application.

Game Review - Dragger (IQ Game)

Dragger is simple game which has no animation or movements in the game except moving the broken image into the correct box to make the scatter images into one single image.

From the above picture can see that first the image will be scatter randomly and player have to put the image in correct order. This game might be simple and lack of visual effects but then the game is still interesting to play and especially makes me eager to join all the images as fast as possible.

Game Review - Super Mario

Mario is my most favourite game since childhood. Even though i have completed all stage in this game still i prefer playing it even now. The controls is so simple jump, ran, up, down, left and right. During my childhood time this game was one of the top most game and even now i still have the fun in this game. The game is so colour full and so many new obstacles and interesting design of the game makes me more excited.
